I am Kru James Armlin. I am the founder and head Muay Thai instructor at East Coast Fighter. I am a former Muay Thai fighter and now a professional trainer. I am a certified Muay Thai instructor in the Thai Boxing Association under Ajarn Chai Sirisute. I have trained and studied Muay Thai extensively in Thailand. Some of the notable Muay Thai camps I have trained in are Fairtex, OneSongChai, Lanna Muay Thai, and Keawsamrit. I also have years of experience as a Close Combat and Hand-to-Hand Combat instructor in the United States Marines. I am currently a Law Enforcement Officer with over twenty-three years of experience. In 2009, I started East Coast Fighter to help people experience the benefits of Martial Arts training. My name is Augusto Neto and I am from Juiz De Fora, Brazil. I started training in Jiu-Jitsu when I was a teenager. I enjoyed training, but for personal reasons I moved away from training for several years. In 2009, I resumed training and joined Brazilian Top Team in Juiz De Fora under Master Diego Gamonal and Master Ruy Frade. In 2012, I travelled to Dallas, Texas and spent six months assisting my instructor Master Diego Gamonal at his school while also competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling Tournaments. In 2014, I was promoted to Brown Belt by Master Ruy Frade and my journey as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience. Jhon Ramirez started his martial arts journey in 2008 at his friend`s garage, and shortly after transitioned to become a student at ECF Martial Arts & Fitness. He is currently a purple belt under Guto Neto in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and an assistant instructor in Muay Thai under Kru James Armlin. Jhon is also a certified Defensive Tactics instructor for law enforcement agencies in South Carolina. Although physical preparation is important, you can always hear Jhon stressing the importance of mental preparation in martial arts and in life. experience. I am currently running the fighters strength and conditioning program, as well as teaching the advanced skills class. I served 11 years in the Marine Corps – 2 in the infantry, and 9 as a special operations team-member. I then served in the State Department for the next 3 years as a Chief Military Instructor and Director of Security for Dyncorp International, in Africa. Upon returning to the U.S., I got two degrees – one in Finance from Queens University, and an MBA from Wake Forest. I competed in kickboxing for 7 years. I won two State Championships, a North American Championship, and competed professionally in Thailand for one year. I retired with a record of 13-2. I currently train all active competitors at East Coast Fighter.
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Cody started instructing fitness courses part time through a work-study opportunity while playing college football at Allegheny College. A Charlotte resident since 2017, he first began training at ECF to maintain an active and competitive lifestyle as a fitness kickboxing and jiu-jitsu student. He has enjoyed growing with ECF and now joined our team as an instructor. His workouts are inspired by a mix of Denice`s teachings and past personal experiences in his athletic career. experience. My name is Morgan Gibson, I’m 21 years old and love everything about martial arts. I’m originally from Minnesota but I’ve lived in Charlotte for the past 16 years. I have a background in almost every sport but have found my home here at ECF. Every day I come in I am looking forward to spread my knowledge and love of the arts.
Tara has been doing kickboxing for 5 years and has been practicing Muay Thai for the past 2 years. She is a National Academy of Sport Medicine certified personal trainer and considers herself a fitness enthusiast. Throughout her class, she will push you to your limits with her tough, motivating and energetic training style.
